What kind of district Almere Hout is

According to the municipality, Almere Hout consists of Nobelhorst, Vogelhorst and Oosterwold, and those three neighbourhoods have little in common. Nobelhorst was planned as a village within the city. Building started there in 2013, the neighbourhood is divided into small hamlets and many residents had their own house built on a private plot. Vogelhorst is a villa park with water and green spaces between the houses. Oosterwold is a green, agricultural area between Almere and Zeewolde, where people build their own homes in farmland. Classifications differ for the Overgooi estate: it is sometimes counted as part of Almere Haven, sometimes as part of Hout.

Part of the Almeerderhout city forest lies in Hout. In that forest you find the De Kemphaan city estate and the Zuiderzeespeelbos play forest. Nobelhorst borders the Kievitsbos woods and the Almeerderhout golf club.

Almere Hout has no railway station. Bus M8 runs between Almere Centrum station and Nobelhorst, via Parkwijk. The nearest stations are Almere Parkwijk, where only local trains stop, and Almere Buiten, where the intercity stops as well. By car you are close to the A6 and A27. If you want to live within walking distance of a station, Almere Stad or Almere Poort will suit you better. If you are looking for space around you or want to build your own home, Hout is the district to look at first.
